Been playing this over and over since yesterday. I just realized that it represents the perfect kind of music, according to my ears. I often can’t decide what to listen to because I want both nice music and nice songs, but North American music can sound really cheesy or sort of awful. This is why I can’t get into Indigo Girls, and why I don’t listen to any punk or most rock anymore, while when I was in high school I could listen to anything (including my beloved Crass, which I will always cherish but never again listen to). Here, Seu Jorge has taken a great song and rendered it in a more beautiful genre, making it gorgeous and inviting to listen to.
Or maybe this just means I’m getting old and crotchedy.
