Obesity and math

by Sofia

I really liked this interview in the NYTimes with a mathematician who works on obesity in the United States. I’m not sure if everything he claims is true, or true in the way he states (it takes three years for a body to stabilize, people’s physical activity hasn’t changed in the US in recent decades, etc.), but I find it refreshing to read about someone approaching and studying the phenomenon in a way one wouldn’t expect to be applicable.

This also makes me think I should start working on a project proposal for MA applications…
