French toast

  • loaf of challah, cut into 1″ slices
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • nutmeg, cinnamon, zest of orange to taste
Place challah pieces on baking pans. Beat all remaining ingredients together in a bowl and pour most of the liquid evenly over the bread. Let soak for some minutes, flipping in order to completely cover them.
Fry in butter in a large skillet on medium-high heat until golden. Place the pieces in the oven, set at 350 F, while you make the rest of the batches.
Serve with blueberries, maple syrup, and yogurt.
